I’ll counter the other narratives with one of my own. My mom and I would go to the mall a lot and as I hated shopping, she would let me go to the arcade. I never had any problems with the owners or teenagers (maybe because it was in a mall). This was back when Joust was hot. And Dragon’s Lair. And Donkey Kong. So

Only on games sold in the steam store.  That Humble Bundle key?  They take 0%.  And that’s only for games that haven’t hit a certain threshold.  Most hit games will only take 20% at most, and again, only through steam store purchases--and most people don’t buy from the steam store at full price.

Because he’s positioning himself as altruistic. You can call it cynical and shit, but when a CEO tells you “I’m doing this thing because it’s going to make things better for everyone”, you start looking for the razor in the candy floss.

What cereal box have you been getting your legal insight from?

Google Fiber ran into entirely different problems, ones that have no direct corollary in the game-streaming market space.

I know they’re worried about legal ramifications, but at some point I think Valve just needs to come out and say:

Skyrim needs steam to activate. I think the same goes for the modern fallout games too. You may be able to play offline afterwards, but steam is still required.

I have a feeling people would be much happier with this if they kept the game on Steam, but also sold it on the Epic store for a cheaper price because of the better % margins. They aren’t forcing anyone to one option, and you will have the people who just want to buy the game for the lower price, ala Epic.

Epic’s store leaks user data like a sieve, lacks very nearly every feature Steam has (most notably, ratings, reviews and cloud-based save options), and is 40% owned by Tencent - the company that’s *so very friendly* with the Chinese government that it’s in charge of building China’s draconian “social credit” system.

So while I'm glad I got to see the movie I'm sure there are others who haven't had the chance. Could Kotaku not put the title as something spoilerly for them?

In my opinion, it seems you along with Polygon have some personal vendetta against David Cage. Your review turned me off because of how downright nasty you were throughout most of it, filled with disdain and almost what seemed like disgust for David Cage. As someone who adored Heavy Rain and still plays Beyond 2 Souls

The first guy I was set to compete against pretended like he didn’t know how to play the game. And then he “came back” to try and whoop me and embarrass me.

Wow.

Fuck me. Worst thing is, I’m not surprised. I can’t understand how abusers manage to exert such control over the abused.

Did he claim to be one? It seems like he’s pretty evenly addressing a controversy and apologizing for insensitive jokes, as well as trying to distance himself from extremists and literal Nazis. Those are all pretty normal things for a person to do if they get in that situation.

Now if the writers put more effort into the script like the artists did with these amazing works.

“The issue isn’t that someone gets kidnapped, the issue is that it’s always the helpless girl getting saved by the brave, strong, competent man.”

“It’d be nice if nintendo made a good game where peach saved mario”

This game exists, though. It’s on the Nintendo DS.

Yeah, I’m spoiled to paddle buttons now since I’ve used a Steam Controller for a year. It feels so natural for crouch and reload.

Not even! “We can still be friends” at least says something, even if it’s “hey, I don’t like you that way, but let’s get ice cream?” Ghosting is nothingness.
