Debbie may not be 18, but she's a Mom and not in school, both these facts combined mean she forfeits the right to be "taken care of" like she's a child. Carl is another matter.

Fiona telling the rest if her family to grow up and start taking responsibility for themselves is helping her family. Frank's not helping anyone other than Frank, he's using his "new" family and the other homeless people, when they are no longer useful to him, he'll drop them in a heartbeat.
Absolutely loving Fiona's story line this season, been waiting for it patiently since the end on season 4. Don't care for the Tinder aspect of it though, but Fiona with a plan and moving forward in life is a dream come true.
The writers have taken Frank to depths of such unlike ability that I'm always disappointed when he appears on screen. Love Macy as an actor, but despise the role he plays on Shameless. His behavior at Fiona’s wedding was unforgivable and his casual racism in episode two of Season 7 made me wince.
Strong start to the season and LOVE that Fiona is single.
I love Macy as an actor, but can't stand the Frank character. You are so right about "he stops every narrative dead in its track."
"express yourself with as little information as possible!" - He's barely one step away from communicating in grunts and high pitched squeals as it is.
LOL : )
Shosh is a human B-12 shot, love her.
Can't agree with anything you said. Marnie (like most characters on the show) does need to grow up, but Ray is significantly older than the rest of the cast, I think it was established early on, that he is something like 10 years older than the rest of the cast, so a little patience for their collective immaturity…
Ray is awesome, I'd frequent his coffee shop just to hang with him for awhile.
I think she has a long and brilliant career as a; writer, producer, director and actor ahead of her. I'm a total fan and pay little, if any, attention to the people who hate her to give their lives purpose.
Nope, love the idea of Marnie and Ray.
Loved this entire season and really hope Ray and Marnie work out. Sad that next year is the last season.
She'll just get a different job, which could be her story arc for the season.
I also had a hard time believing he'd just walk away from the women he almost married, but perhaps he was so freaked about what his son just saw and found out, that he wasn't thinking straight.
I'm a bit sympathetic to the Mickey crowd, since I miss or should say I "missed" Jimmy/Steve up until they brought him back and ruined it.
I've looked around and I can't find a thing that says she turned 30, she had a birthday, but no mention of age. I would say she would be 27 right now, 28 tops.
The comment Frank made about Fiona was sick, I don't care if he was high.
I think that would have made more sense…but good God would that have been heartbreaking. I don't think I could of stomached that much pain being inflicted on characters, that for the most part, I care about. That would have been almost sadistic.
