To be fair though, they did raise the redline to 7500 RPM (up from 6800 rpm) to get there though. The real feat here, is that Mazda has retained decent fuel economy while doing it, and has had to contend with tougher emissions restrictions.

TIL the Mazda2 is still kicking around as the Toyota Yaris on our shores! If you want a manual you will be relegated to the Sedan in L or LE trim....
On your A6/Q7 comparison, you are missing the fact that the lowest level of A6 All-road is a 3.0T “Premium Plus” trim. If you adjust for that fact:
As is mentioned in the article, the Mazda lags in that regard with other crossovers having closer to 40 with the seats up. However, it is 100% true that CUVs in general are not effectively more useful than their 5 door hatchback stablemates. If American’s didn’t dislike wagons so much we could easily be writing about…
Not to poke fun at you in particular, because I am guilty of being excited about it too, but 180hp out of 2.0 is such a sad “accomplishment” in 2020.
Thank you! People talk about torque all wrong imo. Peak Torque is a fairly meaningless figure. All cars should just come with HP curve graphs instead of Peak Tq and Peak HP figures.
I agree, Mazda hit it out of the park on the Mazda3, Mazda6, CX-5, and ND Miata a few years back, but appear to have nowhere to go but down from there.
I doubt diesel goes anywhere until it stops being the primary source of fuel for Semi trucks.
Galar.
#COTD but, everybody knows that Subaru doesn’t give any FUCKS how much you want an STI edition.
So how long can Mayor Pete dodge the facts put together by Michael and TYT? Forever? If someone confronted him with it on stage at a debate, would he give a straight answer?
It’s such a weird feeling, remembering a time when playstation didn’t exist, and realizing that they are now on their 5th one.
Can I just say that “Switch” is a trash name though. Every time I say it people don’t know what I am talking about. I either have to say “Nintendo Switch” or I just say “Nintendo”.
Also, for some people a switch is the thing their parents hit them with so...little awkward.
It’s all going exactly to plan.
I guess CA’s influence is rubbing off, MWAHAHAHAHAHA
I was basically barefoot the first 20 years of my life. Now that I wear shoes on the reg, it feels weird to be barefoot. I only ever once cut my foot on broken glass, but man it bled like a MFer.
So they collectively made up a lie that there was a law about not driving without shoes on? Seems unlikely.
Fair enough, but no need to kool-aid man into my comment with your “only animals eat in cars”. Not everyone shares your disdain for food residue. I worked in food service too and I have always and will always eat in the car on road trips. I am not trying to sit around bumfuknowhere for an extra hour so that I don’t…
