You sure are coming up with a lot of exceptions. So basically, the article was right unless you are talking about the hardest of riding C6s. Got it.

Are you kidding? That Bob Ross one is most excellent.
Agree, it can't be parody if it is meant to sell cars... maybe if they had left out the name of the dealership.
Sorry, disagree, the C7 is not "complete opposite". Its more refined than the C6, just like the C6 was more refined than the C5, which was more refined than the C4. They have offered magnetic ride control since 2003 which means you can find very comfortable vettes back to at least the C5 generation.
I can't speak for the C6 but my C7 is a very comfortable distance car and it doesn't even have the magnetic ride control which I am told makes it as smooth as glass in "touring" mode. Maybe you should go drive one before you "call bullshit" on it.
2.5M and you don't even get a godamn engine? What is the world coming to...
I think you might be thinking of Kanye. Diddy ain't done nothing wrong. :)
Does he reaction make him seem like the world's biggest asshole? I think not.
I try not to let the "image crowd" guide my decisions. Every car has an image, the sooner you quit worrying about it, the sooner you can drive whatever you want. I am 28 btw, doesn't bother me one bit that the average Corvette owner is 63. I can't think of any high end car that doesn't have some sort of image…
What would keep you from driving a Corvette everyday? It's subtle enough, just don't get it in yellow, red, orange, or bright blue. I get a good amount of attention in the C7 but the dark blue definitely tones it down, a lot. I would feel more conspicuous driving a 911 just because people tend to think you are…
100 miles with no traffic is actually a nice amount of quiet driving reflection time. I miss it, I now live 1.3 miles from work and try to walk to work as much as possible.
Refreshing as usual Orlove, thank you for that. I think this is why I keep falling into S2000s (on my third). Having only a bigger more powerful car just leaves a small part of your driving soul untouched.
Buying a car to keep miles off of another car is the definition of insanity. Cars are for driving, not sitting around gathering dust. I had an identical commute, 50 miles each way, and I drove my 2002 S2000. I put 30k miles on that car and loved every one of them. Justin, if you love it, set it free (by driving it…
Subtly and restraint are for regular cars not sports cars but maybe the 911 isn't a sports car, I dunno. Ill buy something subtle and restrained with the 40k that I saved...
You would be surprised. The throttle is severely capped when the wheel is not pointed straight-ish. It's feels really weird but I can see how it keeps people from getting into trouble.
i don't see what all the fuss is about the F40 (it's ugly) but maybe that's because I was barely born when it came out. The Carrera GT on the other hand, I remember fondly.
Yup, I agree on all fronts. Its a very likable concept but its reality is far from ideal. BTW if you want a Guaranteed spot on the wait-list its non-refundable...
As I understand it, there are some pretty sweet tax incentives for buying pickup trucks that almost every business owner can claim, as in, a lot of money back in their pocket for buying a truck even if they don't really need one. I wonder if that explains some of the cost bloating.
It really depends. There was definitely some concern on the part of the group we were running with when I (the noob) showed up in my C7. The truth is, with the traction control on its very hard to mess up too badly in these cars. You just have to be humble enough to realize you are going to be slow and let people pass…
My first track day pretty much ever was in my C7, Most of the other cars were S2000s, all of these other cars were at a disadvantage power to weight wise (compared to me). I got so used to pointing people by it wasn't even funny. I had a blast though :) If you aren't there to have fun, why are you there? There is…
