It was implied to have been a project that had been buried a long time ago, and no one seems to get a good picture of the vehicle in use for the engineers to make comparisons.

Definitely pro-muscle car Batmobile. That thing looks and sounds like a freight train from hell. It’s like the ‘66 car by way of Fast & Furious and I’m AOK with it!
Realism can only take you so far, and my problem with the Batmobile has always been “where do you park it when you get out to beat up the Joker” or whomever. What stops bad guys from booby-trapping it, mining the approach or simply laying an ambush around it?
And then he gets Lazarus Pit’d, and becomes... The Dead Knight.
So they tell me. I read Knightfall, but never continued after the back breaking, and I was already moving away from the Big 2 Xtreme 90's comics so never got exposed to him.
Person of Interest was always off-brand semi-realistic Batman so that tracks.
Holy Empty Bat-Well!

The Nolan films established the Batmobile as a tank, which was a brilliant idea.
Isn’t that Knightfall-era Bat-Azrael?
Thanks! I dont think i’ve ever seen him out of costume!
So Batman is taking over Luther's lair from the first Superman film?
Jean-Paul Valley, AKA Azreal, who took over from Bruce after Bane broke his back. and then promptly went nuts
Looks like Jean-Paul Valley, aka the vigilante Azrael, who became Batman for a brief time in the 90s, as part of the Knightfall arc, where Batman was incapacitated by Bane breaking his back. It was the 90s, so this Batman was more violent and ruthless, and so the arc ended with Bruce beating the living shit out of…
And he always wants to cut ahead of you at the merge.
So . . . add Automotive Engineer Genius to the list, I guess?
That version will end with Batman being shot and killed on his first night out because REAL!!!
I’m so glad that the car is going back to the design aesthetics of the pre-Anton Furst days. There is something cooler, imo, of the image of Batman opening his car door than seeing the door/roof slide open.
I hope Batman has access to a lot of underground tunnels to get to any part of the city quickly. One thing that always threw me off about Batman was how does he avoid the traffic in the city? Imagine being in gridlock and the person next to you is Batman? And you make eye contact with him and you give him that “can…
The obsession with Batman being REAL REAL REAL is so crazy to me. We’re going to get to a point where they’re going to reboot him for the 20th time and he’ll make his suits out of bed sheets because REAL!!!!
