Well, that's the thing, the gameplay itself is completely different than what it was at launch. The gameplay and content have pretty much already been fixed and updated, it's just now the matter of porting it all over to this new game engine which will run a lot smoother and allow the dev team to create content not

I could have sworn I read somewhere that Version 2.0 of FFXIV was built using this new Luminous engine. Maybe that's why it looks frickin' amazing.

Jumping is being added, yeah. Also, obviously the UI is brand new, and the menu lag is supposedly being fixed in the new version as well.

2.0 releases around October for PC users, and PS3 beta starts in December, with full release early 2013.

Umm... did you even look at the screenshots.. I'm pretty sure there's more to it than that..

Require massive design overhauls? The game has already had PLENTY of these massive overhauls in the patches since launch by the new dev team. The game as it is today plays nothing like the game it was at launch.

It doesn't even play the same today as it did at launch, it's practically a different game after all the improvements.

Nope, you can just buy time directly from Square Enix with your credit card now, no crysta BS.

Yeah, the game was never pulled, it's been online since it's launch. This is an error in the article.

Hmm, I could see that as being a good use for it. I guess it all just depends on how you use it.

ok, so I guess I'm not missing anything... It really does sound ridiculous/pointless.

Will someone please tell me what the appeal of Pinterest is? I'm not on it, but from what I gather, you find things that you are interested in, and 'pin' it to your page? Is that the gist? If so, what is the point?

No, that's what people who didn't even watch the series think happened. When really, everything in the series actually happened, they didn't die on the plane crash. It's hard to explain and my brain is tired at the moment though. I'm sure there's explanations on google.

Electro, how many times are you going to reply to people's comments using that same exact comment?

I live about 35 minutes from Roseville, it's a predominantly 'white' neighborhood, I'd say it's upper class society and full of old people and retirement folks, and soccer moms and their families. Like another poster said, it's incredibly cookie cutter. It's technically a 'nice' area, but still boring. The people

Same here, and yep, that's what the new LOTR movie is going to look like... which I absolutely despise, being such a fan of the trilogy myself. This is putting a damper on the Hobbit for me.

Yep, this is exactly what the article is talking about. That is a 'feature' some newer TVs have, and it definitely makes the movement look more 'real' and fluid, but like you said, the motion was just...TOO fluid. It completely throws you off, and it doesn't look like a movie, it looks like home video, even though

2.0 should fix almost all of the issues the original game had, so I'm right there with you, can't wait! :)

Glad to see at least 1 person thinking positively for this game. Version 2.0 indeed seems like it will fix almost all of the glaring issues with the current game. Simply put, the original development team used a game client that simply inallowed or made incredibly difficult to do some basic things that are expected in

omg, Quest 64...... I remember reading previews on that game in EGM and looking forward to it like it was Christ's second coming... only to be horribly disappointed. Wow what a letdown that game was haha. I hadn't even thought about the game for many years until I saw your comment just now hehe.
