The announcement did seem odd. If Legendary has a deal with WB to distribute in theaters for a few months before it goes to streaming, and has sold exclusive streaming rights to Netflix, i don’t see how WB can just decide to show it on HBOmax without permission (and probably a lot of money) no matter if there is a

Because Godzilla has international brand recognition that Netflix could easily generate into views, particularly in Asian territories.

I’ll admit I’m worried that Dune Part 2 might not get made if Part 1 fizzles out due to the pandemic box office (or lack thereof, really.) Of course that’s also contingent on the movie being any good in the first place.

I still don’t quite get why Netflix was willing to pay $250M for a direct sequel to Godzilla: King of the Monsters, a movie that barely made $100M domestic and which nobody remembers, even though it came out last year.

The despair of the proletariat.

Dunnottar Castle in Scotland has a room called “The Whig’s Vault” which measures 52' x 15'. In 1685, 167 men and women were imprisoned there for 9 weeks without sanitation.

You’re only going to have about a week in the fridge with this (it is buried in the last line of the article, which is easily over looked due to the horribly placed thing asking for you to subscribe to their shitty newsletter).

This doesn’t seem all that new or different. I’ve been scanning and bag as I go for years at Giant stores in PA with their Scan It app or in-store scanners. Scan barcodes, bag your groceries, the app/scanner generates a barcode the self checkout scans to generate your order, insert credit card, pay and leave.

It looks quite snug.

I really like the idea of a cart-based system or an app where I can scan items and then bag them as I’m shopping. Cutting out the double and triple handling of goods is faster and safer for me and the employees.

It’s a cool little show, and had some really funny episodes (particularly in the first half, as I recall). Lisa Kudrow had a role that was about 1000% funnier that what she was stuck with in Space Force.

I can only see smart carts becoming popular for retailers if the cost of upkeep is less than whatever they spend on standard carts that get taken off their properties and never returned.

I’ve purchased from Amazon Go convenience stores in NYC in the past. I wonder how they ensure that your payment method on file is up to date and active — it must be part of the unlock process to get you into the store, rather than confirmed at checkout.

I actually like grocery shopping but the self checkouts are where I rage. I’m pretty sure I look legit insane to other people when I’m yelling at the checkout that I have not in fact placed an unexpected item in the fucking bagging area!

Cuts down on labor costs and gets people out of the store faster, reducing congestion and improving customer satisfaction scores.

it’s definitely worth a watch.

I’ve been meaning to try making my own cashew-based cream cheese alternative. A nice bagel with cream cheese is one of my major misses from becoming lactose intolerant.

Most of your complaints about the other types of milk also apply to store bought cashew milk. It too can be too sweet, to processed, have too many additives, have an artificial taste, etc. depending on the brand and flavor.

If it wasn’t $150 USD and I knew what Natty Lite was beyond “beer”, I’d consider that belt, to be honest.

Do people really buy this stuff? It reminds me of the random things you find in a subscription box that companies couldn’t sell otherwise.
