"The job of history" sure sounds pretty but is a meaningless statement. What exactly is this "history" that stays so true to facts?

No it's acknowleding the reality that our art and entertainment shape how we view the world. You can argue whether it should be that way, but that doesn't change the fact that it is that way.
As for Tom Hardy, I assumed he was already too low to parachute and likely to be captured anyway even if he did survive the jump.
He was the guy who wanted to kill the frenchman.
The immense power of propaganda and advertising shows that bleating, "It's just a movie," is disingenous.
Seems like a strawman. How hard would it be to have one of the main characters walk past a non-white unit? They certainly walked past tons of other random groups of soldiers.
Well there actually were women in the movie. And having 50% female evacuees wouldn't be accurate.
So the "wretched refuse of your teeming shore" and the "homeless, tempest-tost" were economic powerhouses were they? What exactly do you think the term "Mother of Exiles" means exactly?
I would think that the spirit and ideals of our great nation should definitely be a basis of US policy.
Are there any other things that you don't think are part of the spirit of the country because they didn't happen at a specific time? Why would it matter whether the poem was made at the same time as the statue?
Well that's what would happen. Smart people incorrectly think they are average (underestimating their own intelligence) and stupid people also think they are average (overestimating their own intelligence).

Yeah I'm on the same page. But maybe he's just terribly unimaginative and hasn't realized that there is voyeur-themed porn? Let's hope that's the issue.
But ASMR is free, legal, and available instantaneously if you have an internet connection. Removing those qualities seems pointless.
I don't know. Americans do tend to over-condemn sex they see as "gross."
Wow. This seems like so much work for something that's main attraction is that it makes you feel sleepy and relaxed.
The key "thrill" he's chasing is watching women without their knowledge or consent. Maybe voyeurism-themed porn will scratch that itch, but it's disturbing, to me at least, that he was so ready and willing to cross the consent line. Suggests that his moral compass is focused on satisfying his sexual urges at the…
It's possible the grief is connected. My grandfather's death really shattered me. When my equally, beloved grandmother died several years later, the grief was much less intense. Like I was more prepared for the idea of death. I think you feel what you feel sometimes.
Trump's residences are a small child's vision of what being rich means (gold toilets!).
I know! How dare the media report on things the president says and does!
