A restaurant experienced as a couple or solo diner is worlds away from a restaurant experienced with a large group (anything 6+ is a large group). Most restaurants aren’t great at groups IME. Servers feel overwhelmed by them and they always need to be sat somewhere away because of logistics.

For many years I tried to meal plan and put together reasonable weekly grocery lists so that I would cook all week. That managed to last about 2 days every time. Now I add items to the grocery list as soon as I use them, and I plan at most one meal per grocery run. I’m cooking way more, and I’m wasting way less.

.. if you’re doing all the shopping how does anyone else know what aisle stuff is in?
