Bat. Shit. In. Sane. Dow was well under 8K when O come in. Even taking 2012 as the starting point (and really, why the fuck would you?), that’s still 12-13K? That goes nearly to 20? If this had been a conservative who made that happen to the Dow, you Trumptards would be going orgasmic with joy. But the guy who did the

Lunchtime doubly so.

Not sure it even rises to the level of platitude. More akin to dude-on-the-subway-next-to-you-having-an-intense-yet scattered-conversation-with-himself.

sit back and let these crispy crackers deliver a boatload of incredible right to your mouth.

Oh yeah, no resorts for us. We like to be in with the locals, as much as possible. Beach time is awesome, but lots to see and do. Still wish I’d made it across the bay to the Parque de los Haitises, or something like that.

Which aren’t even as good as Cheat Thins.

We mostly took guaguas or even motoconchos to get around. Did an ATV one day to Boca del Diablo (or Devil’s Asshole or whatever it was called). Fun, but hairy. As you know, it rains at the drop of a hat there. Tough sledding on muddy hills with a sheet of water falling on your head, though of course it’s sunny as hell

Did you? You saw far more of the country than I, obviously, but I figured, I guess wrongly, that if there was only one lame yellow in the capital, that’d be it.

DR is kuh-razy. I saw one stoplight in the entire country in the capital, a four way blinking yellow, completely ignored.

Wow, someone else actually saw that movie?

But that isn’t how it works. They just go to the swing states.

Thick.

Your math aren’t goodly. And I have no interest in being tyrannized by an ignorant, hateful minority.

Man, someone can throw a toaster strudel at me any time.

Um... you mean he won the rural vote, right?

You aren’t reading carefully.

Remove a hugely populous state from the equation? What on earth for?

There are no longer any valid arguments for the electoral college, and the state one is a novel interpretation, afaik. And given that most of the big states get overlooked (as well as small ones with a clear preference for R or D), you’re suggesting that it’s good that the vast majority of the population be ignored,

Yes, it’s true that candidates tend not to campaign where they know they won’t win, or where they’re virtually certain that they will win leaving the “swing” states as the main battleground areas. But all that means is that if the swing states become disaffected with one side or the other, they can throw the election

Where in God’s name is this ridiculous talking point coming from? It’s pure gibberish. And the EC exists solely to stop the public at large from electing a madman or someone manifestly incompetent. It obviously failed at the one thing it was put in place to do, so it’s an anachronism that has to die.
