I completely understand the concern everyone seems to have, but there IS potential here for a magical experience, given the source material. I don’t think there’s anything in the original movie that wouldn’t “work” with the right cast, sets and CGI/practical effects. But I think for it to work well, the’d have to

I think you’re looking at it the wrong way. There were 25 MILLION gamepass subscribers in 2022, and that’s been growing since. Aside from a percentage (myself included) that looks for deals and pre-buys at a lower cost, that $10-$15 a month is coming from each one of those members. Let’s assume $250 Million per month

This makes a lot of sense.

“This is ridiculous,” Musk said, as reported by the Platformer newsletter. “I have more than 100 million followers, and I’m only getting tens of thousands of impressions.”

I finished a play-through of High on Life recently, and it was.... hard to get through toward the end. Some of it was legitimately funny, but most, IMHO, was just crude, needlessly uncomfortable banter. The game and the art style were unremarkable, but fun for the few hours you get - to the point where I think it

Why is the last slide in your slideshows just a list of other slideshows?

“...like a starving shipwrecked survivor given a week old Whopper.”

It’s really hard to play something like this, when I see what has been done with other “enhanced” re-releases. Just look at Halo Master Chief Collection. You can even swap between the original graphics and sounds and the enhanced versions with a button press. It’s night and day - like new games. Why not do something

There’s irony somewhere in the fact that this article - written to summarize a company’s attempt to further monetize an IP while pissing off its fans - was published as a slideshow, which is an attempt to further monetize Gizmodo’s content while pissing off its readers.

No, very much enjoyed them. This show has a VERY unique feel that’s not for everyone. I mean, the trolls being that funny is ridiculous, but that’s part of the charm of the show. If you take a step back, it’s just a fun adventure.

I’m really enjoying this WWE style heel turn from Musk. It’s super entertaining. An extra bonus will be one less social media site soon enough.

I have to say I enjoyed the show, and the premise. I agree on the last episode, though. While the characters were as entertaining as usual, I just don’t get it.

Lot of people here seem worried about the plot and story pacing, which is funny, because no-one is going to watch this with the expectation that it’s going to be a gripping story with surprising and entertaining twists.

This seems perfectly reasonable, because no piece of software or hardware has ever malfunctioned or contained bugs.

OK, it’s been a hot minute since I watched these episodes, but I’m looking at the assembled fleet in the embeded picture above and in the bottom right corner IS THAT A CONSTITUTION CLASS?!

Man, John Oliver really knows how to light a fire.

<checks calendar...> Nope. Hmmmmm. I guess real?

Hope the docs were able to get to the techs in time. Burns can be nasty - especially the bad ones that tend to peel off in sheets. When they’re that bad, and a loose bandage slides off, it can be pretty painful. Gotta keep those things tight.

to changing the iconic tri-laser targeting weapon we all know so well, to arrow-based ammunition.”
