“Google maintains that these ad blockers hurt the YouTube ecosystem, claiming that a majority of ad revenue goes to paying out creators. However, it’s also a major way YouTube itself makes revenue.”
According to the presentation, ChatGPT, and other engines, will not be “allowed” onto the device. Rather, with explicit permission, specific requests will be sent to those engines. ChatGPT in this case would not have access to any personal information, unless you supply it with your request.
“a different form of government than one we deem acceptable”
Good points all around, and I agree with all of it. As far as what I’m afraid of, it’s not China. As you said, we have a lot more pressing issues locally.
“yet nobody seems to be able to tell me a hypothetical or any actual, real world consequences that could come from this. they might get my data? oh no, they’ll know i like hockey and college football. they might find out where i live (pretty publicly available info). i mean i just don’t see a threat aside from “we’ve…
“FUCKING HOW? Exactly how the fuck does having that advertising data, which, news flash, is available on the open fucking market, and nothing in this law would prevent it from being just bought, give them a “strategic advantage”?”
Look at it a different way. What if it was owned by Russia? Would you be OK with Russia having access to all of that data and users? China has been a little too buddy buddy with Russia in recent years. That’s part of the “Potentially” here.

“It absolutely the fuck is. It is the government deciding what platforms are ok and what platforms are not.”
This is not a free speech issue. If it was, it would include all other popular social media companies. The fact that THIS one is owned by a Chinese company that is obligated to turn over any and all assets to the Chinese government upon request, is the issue.
I remember Gridlee - that was fun :)
There are a couple of gems in the small library of released games definitely worth playing. If you have a soft modded 3ds, the latest version of the Red Viper emulator allows you to play these with glasses free stereoscopic 3D.
I don’t understand what’s dumbed down about this?
Or, they can continue to make science approachable and fun.
Have we EVER had that level of visual detail from a re-entry? That was beautiful!
Yeah...
Are you ok?
I guess it depends on what services you use, and how close you are to distribution centers. All of my prime orders arrive in either 2 or 1 days, with more and more offering same day if I order early enough.
Not only that, but the slides have NOTHING to do with the original headline.
