Returning to Amazon is so ridiculously easy and painless, I find myself buying more knowing that if I don’t like it for any reason, I can just bring it to Kohls across the street and get a refund in 2 hours. My favorites are the smaller things that - after you complete a return request - they just tell you to keep and

I think the Virtual boy had 2 distinct layers of depth, right? Instead of merging the output to VGA, you could maintain the separate layers on output, and use an LCD for the background and projection map the front layer into a transparent screen on top. This would create a 3D diorama effect in a portable box.

Does Game Pass Ultimate work like Stadia? I see there are over 100 games to play, which is awesome, but can you buy stream only games as well? On Stadia, new releases are up for sale, and you can purchase them for full (or sale) price and play them right away via the cloud.

What was the saying at the height of Napster? Once something is digital, it wants to be free?

If she’s sitting there in a bikini, because whatever reason, that’s her call as long as she’s not violating the terms.

I think I can distill this down to a simple flowchart:

Counterpoint: Beautiful.

That’s not to say that it won’t be popular, or that Wizarding World props won’t be incredibly neat, but a permanent gimmick like this in New York City? Eh, a little weird.”

The further this technology gets - and I’m not just talking visual, but all 5 senses - the more credence we give to the simulation hypothesis.

So this got me doing some research, and today I learned that the US Federal Poverty Guidelines state, for a family of 3, that you are considered living in poverty if you make less than $21,960 a year.

Nice analysis - appreciated. It’s a lot to think about.

Thanks for the reply. I feel like I could deal with whatever pops up, but I’m more worried about the wife and kid, who aren’t as tech savvy with desktop/laptop computers. That’s what I worry about the most. Yelling about how we shouldn’t have switched because something doesn’t work right.

As a Mac user for a long time, I see more and more of these “PC” companies killing it with specs, but I’m hesitant to get one because of Windows. My last experience with Windows was 7, which in my eyes just didn’t hold up to the reliability and smoothness of working in Mac OS X. What’s the state of things now? With

Given NASA’s track record, I’d be more surprised if it “only” did what it was engineered to do.

I hope that before they abandon Ingenuity, they line up one really knockout close photo of Persy.

Would’ve been interesting to see Apple do something like a Vantablack version.

The big deal here isn’t these photos - that’s just eye candy for us commoners. It’s that they are able to initiate and maintain flight on Mars. Future missions can utilize a beefed up drone to scout ahead of the rover, or maybe do limited remote sample collecting or research on its own.

This is.... potentially great? Emulation of classic games from different systems presumably in perfect 1080p quality and performance, no setup required and completely legal... I mean, if the games are there and the hardware works as advertised, this looks like one of the best options for that occasional retro itch.

This is a really cool way to get some inspiration for new grooves, or just to listen and chill. Well done!

It won’t be about fooling senses, it’ll be about “hacking” them. Everything we experience is just electrical signals to the brain. Once we have the technology to emulate those impulses, we can make the brain see, hear, smell, touch and see whatever we want.
