I missed that. Thanks for clearing that up.

ok, can you show me something that says that? Cause everything I’m reading says that NEW players will have this restriction, but I’m already a “player,” with an oculus account.

Just create an account. Use a secondary email address. Make up a legit sounding last name. Or, create an oculus account now, while you still can, and use that with your new quest: https://secure.oculus.com/sign-up/

I’m not trolling. I think people are not understanding what’s actually going to happen here. This is listed in many places:

But to Facebook, there’s nothing”Fake” about my account. I don’t have another account, so this is the only one I access, and really only for Oculus.

That doesn’t happen. Even if it did, The Facebook profile I use has no friends. It’s literally just there to use the social/multiplayer features on Oculus.

I guess that’s something to think about, but if you already have an active facebook account, with your information on it, isn’t the point moot? I don’t have another facebook account - just the one I use for social features on oculus.

ah, true

Don’t tie your games to the facebook account. Create an oculus account (still available) and use that - your games will be tied to that. When I get the Quest 2, I’ll be opting to not merge the accounts, so everything will work until 2023.

I did read their review. I’ve been using a facebook account with no activity with oculus go for 7 months without issue. If you don’t want anything to do with Facebook but still use the quest, create an oculus account instead, and keep it separate. It’s work until 2023. By then there’ll be something else better, so it

Hey all - lots of comments about the requirement of Facebook, so I just wanted to post this:

You say “another entry from your machine,” but that’s not the case. I don’t have any other Facebook account. I just created one with a made up last name. I used it for 7 months with the oculus go, with no issues.

Counterpoint - this is awesome tech at an awesome price, and you can easily create a Facebook burner account to use with it so nothing personal is tracked.

Make up a facebook account just for the oculus. No activity, info, or friends to track. If you want to play online, give people the oculus facebook account name.

Just do what I did - make up a facebook account just for the oculus. No activity, info, or friends to track. If you want to play online, give people the oculus facebook account name. Super easy - barely an inconvenience!

Yes, but is it only neutered because it doesn’t need to output 4k? I guess what I’m wondering is if I don’t plan on gaming in 4k, will I see any benefit of the X over the S?

Is James Bond doing Blue Steel in that photo? Cause it looks like James Bond is doing Blue Steel.
