I’m sympathetic to the Nadal angle, but Fed’s more diverse success takes it for me.

You have your servants life you into and out of it. Obviously.

You can’t imagine how a player who wanted to play at the top level could still be emotional to play for his home(town) team at the end of his career?

Very good comment. Real Madrid - a club that isn’t exactly renowned for stocking its lineup with its own developed talent - actually has more of its products playing in the big five leagues than any other club (at least according to the Indepedent’s calculations at the end of last year).

It’s not just cleaner than my garage, it’s cleaner than my living room.

I’m one of those dads. Except that I bought the minivan a year or two before the baby, built a folding camping platform in the back, and used it as a base for skiing and mountain biking. Now it’s back to its more traditional job of hauling a bunch of people around, but there still aren’t any vehicle types I’d trade it

Except soccer moms don’t even drive these any more.

I started this thinking it was a Torch article, but came to my senses when the suggested improvement was replacing the plastic interior panels with leather wrapped ones rather than switching out the engine for an Iron Duke then adding stage coach style seating fore and aft.

Huh, I would have thought there would have been someone in that box. I mean, counting me there is an overlap between fans of obscure american races and utilitarian minivans. I almost bought an Odyssey after this, but it wasn’t carrying either lumber or multiple bikes, so I had to disqualify its run.

Interesting. I have an 08 and my brother has a second gen. I never really noticed it feeling unstable at highway speeds of less than 80. I do agree about the wind noise (esp. in my 1st gen) and crappy oem tires though. I was very happy to see those go.

Isn’t the whole idea of custom shirtmaking/tailoring that you could have the neck size be entirely independent of the body size? Perfectly fitting shirts are one of the many reasons I aspire to be obscenely wealthy. As I expect Fernando Alonso to live out my dreams until I can get there, someone should give him the

This was the first thing I saw too.

With a pair of equally nude super models canoodling in front of you to ensure accuracy of driving position. I can’t imagine this is less engaging than the Ford GT.

This is still a Ford and will be viewed as such by not only competing companies, but by interested buyers.

As a Barcelona fan, I’m pretty sure that Billy is going for the jinx. :-)

That was my worry. I had a 1998 TJ. It wasn’t hoseable like my father’s 80s CJ had been, but I wasn’t overly worried if I got caught with the top down in the rain. I’d be more worried as things get fancier, though hopefully they’ve addressed this so a few downpours won’t hurt anything.

How about a Transit Connect? Probably not swanky enough looking at your alternatives, but it’s footprint is basically that of a Subaru Outback despite having a lot higher cargo volume and I average ~24 mpg in mine in mixed driving.

You might consider a Transit Connect then. Much more bare bones and the third row just unbolts from the floor leaving a flat cargo platform.
