The 13 per 100,000 is from Wikipedia’s article on “Construction Site Safety”. They get their numbers from the European Commission and U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. My numbers for heart attacks are from the US CDC.

I accidentally posted this in reply to the conversation thread below, but here’s the long version explaining things:

OK I’ll try to actually break down the numbers to make this clearer for everyone:

You aren’t understanding how these death rates are calculated. It’s not actually counting work related deaths. It’s total deaths of foreign workers in Qatar. A guy dies in a construction accident: counts. A guy dies of a heart attack while sitting at home: counts. A guy dies in a mundane traffic accident: counts.

This is the key point. I dislike Qatar and their terrible labor practices as much as the next guy, but that number of deaths isn’t at all odd for the size population of immigrant workers that they have in the country. If you chose a random sample of similarly aged American men of the same size, you’d find that roughly

Nuts are probably the item which I generate the largest amount of savings.

I rather love it (save the wheels and the giant speaker in the back) but I love it for WAAAAY less than 85,000.

Just to clarify as Steve was kind enough to reply just as I edited given previously answered similar questions: I asked who got screwed in this scam and how.

Edit: Disregard. My question was already asked/answered while I was writing this up.

I suspect that it could have to do with the increasing number of homes generating their own power (mainly through solar). Better home batteries would let them use their own power for more of the day. Utilities have become increasingly hostile to self-generated power, so this could help solve some of the stated

Hey look guys! ArschMitOhren may have crapped his pants while posting this! If he didn’t, don’t you think it’s a bit suspicious that he didn’t mention not crapping his pants? I didn’t crap my pants.

I’m confused what the problem is here. There was no pun. There was no pun intended. He said so explicitly.

The small pain blemishes make me worry. Why aren’t they fixed on a car that looks so otherwise immaculate? If you aren’t going to fix those, what are the chances that the frame was adequately repaired?

I actually rather like this car. It wouldn’t have to drop too far to be in “Nice Price” territory for me. If it was 4 figures, I would have voted NP.

If that is what the left front looked like before damage, I'd hate to see what it looked like after it.

Not being on goal is part of the negative outcome, so it factors into the model. The farther you are out, the less likely a shot is on goal.

Man, I saw the picture and expected a Tavarish post about how I could own that for the price of a Nissan Altima.

McLaren hasn't announced pricing yet, but the best guesstimates right now are right around $180k. The hard-top 650S starts at $265,500, which makes the 570S around 70 percent of the car for a third the price.

I just thought that you figured you were NASCAR's single remaining viewer...
