It’s been retaining value super well. Year-old ones with 10,000 miles are only selling for a couple grand under MSRP here in central PA and surrounding areas.

Plus, people forget that the RS and STIs almost seem to be at the end of their rope when it comes to performance as they almost come maxed-out in the performance department so tuning doesn’t do much. Spend some money for a tune on the Golf R and you’ll be pulling 3.8 second 0-60s with the DSG and spanking STIs, RSs,…

DSG transmissions on GTIs and the like don’t have the noise and I always wondered if it had a helical reverse. Thanks to your article, I looked up pictures and it looks like they do in fact have helical reverse gears... I wonder why...

I guess headlight washers wouldn’t be that bad, I just wouldn’t want it to wipe but if it’s just spraying, I suppose it’s not as bad.

I can’t turn them off on the GTI unless I get into VAGCOM (tuning software that costs an arm and a leg unless you have connections).
