Ouch...it would seem that at least road bikes would be very uncomfortable without padded bike shorts. The closest I've come to that is on the MS150 Houston-to-Austin ride. Some guy with ill-fitting shorts accidentally pulled a "plumber pants" and bared his pasty white crack to me.
