It’s not used daily but in my case, I have to adjust the seat a few times a year. We take quite a few roadtrips and that requires re-adjusting of the seat.
45k seems very high since the Golf R tops out around 39k iirc. Also, while you can build a base Focus to be faster, it will never be AWD and the amount of money to switch it to an AWD platform wouldn't make sense. Similar arguments go for the GTI vs R. You can esily tune a GTI to make the same if not more power than…
Drive the Golf R. It's an S3 in hatch and manual form, well once they start selling the R with a manual :D
Not from my side. I know exactly why I take a RWD or AWD car for a DD. Not all of us can have two cars so we make due with one at times. Last I checked, jalopmobile was a brown, diesel, stickshift wagon with RWD.
try driving a 300+ hp FWD car and utilize all of that power without spinning the wheels. After years of driving FWD cars (Sentras, Altima, Eclipse, Corollas), I'll stick with RWD and AWD as they are a better platform for power delivery without spinning tires, on a whole have better limits for handling (yes I know you…
06 M45. bought in early 09 and still driving it. Used it for two winters with winter tires and no issues. survived through two Chicago blizzards, two roadtrips to ski in Colorado, a trip to FL, and multiple trips around midwest. Went to test drive a GTI and that FWD made me cross it off the list as soon as I drove off…
but but but...that FWD :(
Toyota crossbred a Camry and a Highlander and somehow made a car more boring than both. I can't hate Toyota for not making a Camry wagon, since you know, they want to sell cars, but damn is this dull. We're willing to strip its citizenship (it's built in Kentucky), denaturalize it, and send it away.
Let's compare that top speed to similar competitors: the 2015 Volkswagen Golf R will do up to 155 MPH, as does the Seat Leon Cupra 280. The current front-wheel drive Nürburgring champion, the Renault Megane RS 275 Trophy-R, will do 158 MPH. So if Honda's claim is true, the Civic Type R will be capable of significantly…
I remember when it was coming out friends were lining up to pre-order one and it was a 6 month delay iirc. They were a huge hit. Now on the reliability and material aspect, they were awful.
Except for the R and STI hatchbacks. the car is actually very spacious, almost as large as my M45 on the inside. plus with all that power, I wouldn't touch the car with a 10 foot pole if it had FWD. I wrote off a 2013 GTI due to this and it had 200hp stock.
Well, time to impatiently wait for a great deal on a slightly used MkVII R to show up and trade in the MkVI.
I love sports cars but hate two door and four seat configurations. Plus we don't all have the choice of having a sports car and a DD and this splits it down the middle and giving you mostly the best of both.
Bring over the Golf R Wagon
Let me tell you this about the Golf R: get it with a stick shift.
