To me forward for + and down for - makes more sense in a road car. In a race car, yes it should be opposite but in a normal car we're not experiencing those kinds of forces.

I'm similar to this but rather than cheat days, I plan on cheat meals here and there and just portion them throughout the week. Working out quite often helps with this too. I also cook a lot at home so the kinds of foods I eat is different than if I went and out every day.
