I’ve been in Customer Support positions in the video game industry for 11 years and have worked with companies like Square Enix and Activision. The customer support answer that was sent was... upsetting. To put it mildly. Here’s how I would have answered that email:

Just to put this, well, somewhere, WarioWare has a special place in my heart, because the easy way it generates exciting but short play sessions was a major way to help me connect with my fellow theater nerds in the drama club at high school. People would crowd around and watch WarioWare “duels” where people competed

As an extremely dedicated WarioWare fan, I am both fascinated and enlightened by his entirely reasonable reasoning that there wasn’t as much cultural relevance to doing an abundance of extras; that the idea of showing off what the 3DS could do would just be redundant at that point.

One of these stories sounds unlikely and involves someone punching someone with a gun.

I feel like this was an interesting read. Thank you!

Thank you for taking the time to provide this thoughtful response! :)

I feel like it makes sense to extend the exceptions already in-place to video games and that this is a step forward for acknowledging the artistic potential of video games.

I believe it with all my heart. Also, this hat is a dumb, dumb hat that my wife hated and I lost. I beseech thee; don’t hold it against me.

Right after E3, there was a Nintendo eShop sale on the games that were going to be referenced in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. On the list was “Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia”, which I bought at a nearly 50% discount. It was great, but my point is...

At no point did I comment on the art work of the female characters...

Thank you for this very thorough and detailed reporting. This seems the result of several different toxic cultures (Business, Gamer, Start-Up, etc.) all intersecting and building on one another. Very disappointing...

Gotta get WarioWare Gold rolling. That series means so much to me and I’ve been waiting years for a good port! The reviews saying “It’s good, but it’s basically a port” are music to my ears! :D

The hell, Dennis.

I appreciated Pyramid Head wasn’t just sexual violence just because shock value, but to be part of discussing and dissecting a character and several themes. It wasn’t wasted; it was fully explored, and what we saw was utterly terrifying.

Of all the coincidences... yesterday, yesterday, I told my wife I think I was ready to uninstall Arkham Knight, which I got the 2nd Ending of this last weekend.

This is gonna make you feel better! :D

Xanathar’s is amazing. AMAZING!!! I’m so glad this is out and that Kotaku is acknowledging it! :D

Dude, owning that kind of flair and confidence to be yourself is friggin’ inspirational and is probably really empowering to a lot of people. Keep rocking the competitive scene with flair! :D

I will pay you in money and dollars to change the headline of this article to “Male Ryder can now Ride Male”.

Now playing

One of the best Indie Games out there. Absolutely brilliant story. I bought my fiancee a music box that play’s a tune from it for Christmas. The tune always makes us cry. <3
