That should be one of the most important lessons we take from this. Trump wasn’t a fluke. The people who voted for him weren’t conned. This is who they really are. They are people who hate democracy and would rather die than share this country with the rest of us.

I’ve been working from home this whole time with occasional forays into the office as needed. Staff just got an email yesterday confirming two positive tests in our office. They stressed that they’ve implemented heightened sanitation protocols and all I could think of is how at risk the janitorial staff already is.

Not until after the Georgia runoffs. If we lose those, then McConnell’s shitty deal - including the liability shield - sticks. We cannot let that liability shield pass. It will be like taking out a hit on COVID long haulers. They and their families will lose even the chance at justice.

I just wish that instead of going on vacation, AGAIN, Congress acted with the same sense of urgency your writing expressed, and that this shitty situation demands.

It’s always disappointing when I read a piece like this here and I realize that the writers just assume none of us understand how government works.

Pelosi was bitter, and mad and standing on principle, and I can tell you this as someone who has gone hungry on many nights as a teen: a honeybun on the table now beats the promise of a steak tomorrow.

I know and I hate it but at least once they are dead they won’t infect anyone else and yes, I know how cold that sounds but it’s us or them now.

I feel for all the healthcare workers dealing with this now, especially in red states and rural areas. At least here in Ohio, we expanded Medicaid so we haven’t lost as many rural hospitals as some other states. (thank John Kasich for that).

I knew someone would say this which is why I purposely didn’t mention that I had a case of shingles and that’s why my doctor recommended to me to start getting the vaccine.

I’ll be interested to see what kind of side-effects these vaccines have. The side effects after I got my shingles vaccine made me decided not to go back and get the second shot.

I really am curious to see how he ends up leaving. After learning how many Secret Service agents have become infected or are quarantining, I actually hope they have to drag him out. 

One way to support black women would be calling out problematic, misogynistic Black men.

People who are wringing their hands and pleading for a vaccine need to remember that quite honestly, life has changed and it’s not going to revert to the pre covid19 way of life.
