It does feel like if the kids are going to consume something really sugary at school lunch, then “chocolate milk” is better than almost everything save “fruit.” I mean, chocolate milk is actually (entirely by accident) near the ideal ratio of carbs: protein for post-workout recovery.

They could make the chocolate or strawberry milks with 1/4 of the sugar and it would still taste good. Thanks Obama!

I feel like this is the type of food that deserves to go viral on Tiktok or IG. Of course the video will say some 16 yr old “discovered” a new product. But that’s fine. As long as it might drive distribution out to the coasts because I want to try it.

“They’re on bread. And the bread? It’s toasted.”

I love beans and lentils, they’re probably my main source of protein, i eat them multiple times a week... but man, one of the reasons Americans may not eat beans is the use of truly unappetizing photos like the one heading this article. I’d like to think that someone other than Dennis picked the photo, perhaps someone

Their end goal is probably to build up enough precedence to try and force Taco Bell to settle.

There’s not really much of Sears or Kmart to bring back sadly. There are three Kmart and around 10 or so Sears left in the continental United States. If someone does that IP, it will be used for a low quality online store.

A lot of the Good & Gather brand is really solid. Favorite Day is hit and miss. The G&G frozen popcorn chicken is legit good too, and cheaper than the name brand stuff.

my gosh, the fucking hockey puck steaks. My mom ordered everything well done, and overcooked her steaks into oblivion. I was so worried about eating sushi or rare steak later.

Haha, did you also grow up with all meat cooked until it could be cooked no more? My parents are still very worried about food borne illnesses due to undercooked meat. I’m from Southern York County.

Except for fondue, that stuff is still awesome!

I know Applebees is far from good, but I wonder if most of the people who claim to actively hate it just do it because they think they’re supposed to. Any time I eat at an Applebees it’s been perfectly adequate. Sure, it would be great if it was good, but I struggle to taste much difference between Applebees any other

I said she was raised on Depression era cooking. Because my grandmother, who learned how to cook when she was a kid during the Depression, raised my mother on Depression era cooking, so my mother never ate garlic and still says that bell peppers are too spicy.

That was the thing about their fried pies, and what I thought was behind the move to baked pies. The filling was absolutely molten on all of them, regardless of the fruit inside, a lawsuit waiting to be filed. I guess that it was intended, like a Frosty, to be a dessert item that would only be ready for consumption at

If you’re in the SE US, you can still get fried apple pies at Church’s. IMO they’re superior to the Popeye’s one, but both are far better than the baked McD’s pies.

Yeah they were much better. As were their old beef tallow fries. Now you have to pay extra at designer “old school” places for some of those old luxuries.

With the fried ones you had to give it a few minutes to cool off or you would burn your mouth.

The bread has never been free. The cost of bread was always put in the cost of the meals you eat. So why change it now?

I learned this from reading Anthony Bourdain’s Kitchen Confidential. Most places limit the amount they give you now, and people usually don’t handle the pieces they don’t eat anyway, so I’m still on team bread.

The entire world is absolutely filthy. A roll from someone else’s basket is nothing.
