I like my spaetzle not too big, so I tend to make my dough quite thick (like thick cake batter). But I don’t think you’d want it too thick, cos otherwise they’d probably be too chewy/hard.

I think the main thing you have to figure out is the dough consistency and the impact on spaetzle size and shape! But once you’ve got it, you can whip up batches in no time.
