I’m not sure but I find it irritating. TFA was perfectly fine entertainment and did a good job of “re-booting” the franchise. It looks even better compared to episodes 1-3.

I think all the “trash” comments are just hyperbole. I’m with you thinking it was “okay”...which in itself is kind of damning. For a giant space epic to merely be shrugworthy isn’t a great result.

In the US it’s a CBS All Access exclusive except for the first episode. For most of the rest of the world it’s Netflix exclusive. CBS wants to use this show to get people to sign up for All Access so they’re making it the only legal way to watch it.
