130mph is relatively low for an airliner, as a 737 anything is rather small and light. 747s are around 160mph. The MD-11 has a landing speed in the 170-190mph range. Concorde was also around 190mph.

As a carrier based Airframer, who’s changed thousands of fixed wing tires, I’d have to disagree with your statement about the main cause of blowouts and the reason nitrogen is used.

Tires usually blow out from underinflation allowing the sidewalls to overheat and fatigue from too much flexing. Keep the pressure up and the chances for that to happen decrease substantially.
