At $50k+ this thing needs to be show room quality for me. As soon as I saw the seats it was clear he’s delusional about getting his money back. They also did the thing where they list 1000 other cars to get more hits, so automatic ND.

I was in the middle of drinking my AM coffee and thought this said $35,500 and figured eh, it’s a bit high, but it looks pretty nice for what it is.

and after that $18K it still needs “TLC”. sounds like the owner just wants the hurting to stop.

ND - the mathing simply doesn’t work, on this one. It’s a 57 year old Fiat with “just” 45,000 miles that recently needed (another?) $18,000 to be/remain “roadworthy”. For $53,500 there are far better ways to either do Cars and Coffee or to have a unique daily driver.

It’s insanely low I think.

On commercial vehicles it’s 4/32" for steer tires and 2/32" for everything else. I'm a truck driver instructor and I have always thought that was wildly low.

Especially if you are now on 21" or 22" tires as I’m seeing on some newer SUVs. They are not stocked at many places and are crazy expensive.

Americans don’t believe in infrastructure. They can’t stand the idea that someone else might benefit from driving on roads that they helped pay for. See also: healthcare, education, etc.

My question would be why you’re driving such an oversized overweight ICE. My car weighs 3250 pounds.

Well this is just fucking stupid. So rather than “maybe we should address infrastructure” it’s crying about how EV’s are bad?

It’s not just EV’s, it’s the entire shift (that’s been going on for decades) away from largely sedans and wagons towards CUVs/SUVs/trucks.

There is a minimum thread depth, which is something stupidly small like 5/32". If a car passes the penny test, it’s got a legal tire.

If only we could opt for a speed limit of say 100 mph, thus lower the costs for insurance as well as tires...

The biggest eye opener was the reduced tread depth. That is borderline criminal false advertising! “Look how efficient our vehicle is on bald tires!” Bullshit! The oems are requesting the tire manufacturer shave off half the tread just to increase efficiency. I believe we should have a minimum tread depth for all new

Whatchoo talkin’ about Willis?

Where was this argument during the SUV boom that started in the 1990s?

Just ditched our factory tires that were on our 2020 CX9 for Michelin Crossclimate 2. The old ones were just on the cusp of tread depth being too shallow but those tires with only 26K miles of local driving had given up the ghost. The vehicle was “loose” as in the tire sidewalls were showing cracking at the the bead

This is more of an argument against heavy vehicles not EVs. The average EV does not weight 5000lbs. Most come in at, around or well under 4000lbs. The ones that do weigh over are the more expensive ones, your Taycans and whatnot and also sell in far fewer numbers. And their contemporary ICE vehicles are similarly

In Michigan, the weight limit semi is 18,000 lbs per axle. Sure, the EV does 240% of the damage an equivelent ICE vehicle; but that’s buried in the noise floor of a fully loaded semi doing 16796% of the damage of the 5000lb EV.

I think both of those are examples of great vehicles that lose a lot of appeal because of perception of the owners.
