Around 2005 I was considering a Millennia as a bargain second car. Every one I test drove had something horribly wrong with the engine. Lesson being, second owners can’t afford to fix them.
Doesn’t seem like the kind of car a speculator or collector would have bought and set aside, but some little old lady may have one in her garage with low miles.

Sorry to contradict you, but the European and the American versions were exactly the same as to the body. Only the European engines were chosen to be less powerful, because of the high European taxes and gas prices. Read the linked Wiki articles, for confirmation.

That reminds my of my 87 Dodge Dakota because of the fuel gauge the size of the speedometer. They used the K car gauge cluster and where the tachometer belonged they put the massive fuel gauge. It used to irritate my K car loving friend, but then he would troll me by pointing out how many K car interior parts made it…
Having driven several of these the difference between an automatic and a manual is night and day.

I think US car companies over-estimated tech demand and cars like the Journey and Lancer showed it. Is it nice, sure, is it needed, nope. I’d like to see a few models with some tech deleted and the price dropped. I’d be more enticed on a couple models if they did that.
