A friend’s wife recently said that she was going to get some face cream that was chemical free.

I asked what she thought that meant.

She replied that she wanted it to be made with stuff that she can pronounce.

I asked her if she’s ever seen the ingredient list for a blueberry.

So, how long should your long term studies be? You mention 15 years; is that it? 20? I’m not necessarily against the idea, but there has to be a reasonable framework. Maybe a certain number of plant generations? For the anti-Monsanto crew a thousand years isn't enough.

Ah. The evil Monsanto. Here we go again...

I see your point, but are random mutations (‘sports’, I think they’re called in some selective breeding literature) regulated at all?

Interestingly, “Mutant Mushroom” turns out to be literally correct. The most common cultivar of Agaricus bisporus we grow is probably a recent mutation: it’s descended from a clump of white mushrooms found in a crop of brown ones in 1926.

This is blatant fear mongering by the author, he should be ashamed of himself. The article should pulled until it can be revised and re-published in a less biased way.

What particular risks are you worried about? Fear-mongering about a “loop-hole” in regulating something where no risks have been identified is absurd. Regulating, especially in areas like this, is not free. It takes time, people, and money. All three can be used for more important things that actually effect people.

I don’t get it... This sounds like a good thing. Why does it need to be regulated? They just made a mushroom that doesn’t brown. What am I missing? Is it just because people are irrationally scared of GMOs?

Yeah, my husband’s one of them. Even the smell makes him queasy, and I always kiss him *before* I drink it because I’m not getting one while I have coffee breath.

I believe this is what you’re looking for. ^_^

“only to find loathed Brazil nuts at the top of the heap”

They tried to make it through the Permian. Unescorted.

But without the unnecessary words, how will I reach my professor’s word count requirement?

I know execs make some questionable branding decisions, but every time - EVERY time - I drive past the Shinola store in Silver Lake, “shit” is literally the first thing that comes to mind.

Her dissertation?

A similar situation came to light three years ago when Apple’s problems with its suicide prevention options came to light. After users reported that stating “I want to jump off a bridge” to Siri sometimes led to a list of nearby bridges.

And also some of us just find it gross!

Does this have anything to do with the fact that sheet glass itself is kind of bluish-green when viewed edge on?
