I completely ignore adding sugar and add extra dill and salt, but I also use less vinegar so I get more of a salty dill flavor.

Is the sugar really necessary? How much of it actually stays in the finished product?

I’m sorry but there is no “moral dilemma” here. Dogs (and cats) are obligate carnivores. They need to eat meat. They don’t have the option to abstain from meat and remain healthy like humans do. Just FEED YOUR DOGS AND CATS MEAT, PEOPLE.

I used to own a turtle and it would definitely eat meat.
