I think there will be valid criticism that tech is ruining the modern cars. However I think we’re at a fantastic time in car history. You’ve never been able to get so much for relatively so little. Look at what econo crap boxes you could buy brand new 20-30 years ago, now even the cheap cars look nice, drive OK, and

It’s a hideous beast of a machine. Should have just called it a Canyonero.

And fuck them for making a machine that gets such shit economy.

This isn’t even news - it’s blatant click-bait. These transactions are publicly available on the Lordstown site, and have been for months. This is the Richard Schmidt one:

Mixing weed and booze? Do you want the spins? Cause that’s how you get the spins

I mentioned this in the article about the Model S’ “Yoke”, but I feel the main issue isn’t that the stalk went away, it’s how it was replaced by touch sensitive controls. The main controls of a vehicle should always be physical controls, be it buttons, levers, dials, knobs or switches. This is to encourage muscle

Around a decade ago, Elon Musk and Tesla had a great idea. They developed an electric car that was the opposite of what we had come to expect from one. People thought electric cars were slow so they made it fast. We thought they took forever to charge so they developed a way to charge them quickly and built the

How fucking stupid. This is why I don’t take Tesla stans seriously, Elon comes out with blatantly dangerous shit, but WE’RE the idiots for saying so. Welp, I guess we better brace ourselves for all the inevitable “STEERING YOKE FAIL!!” stories that are inevitably on their way.

I’ve sat in everything from a Tesla Model S to Audi and Lexus.

1. The disclaimer has been there since January at least
2. The Plaid range has not decreased (there are reports the Maroney (sp?) sticker actually states a 405 mile range, which is an increase)
3. Plaid was never getting 4680 cells. Only Plaid+

Except for timelines, Tesla has pretty much always overdelivered.

I need one of those for my car. Since I carry the genetic material for millions of unborn half-babies between my legs.

1. Driver visibility.

You need empirical evidence to prove the driver can’t see what’s right in front of him at a stoplight? Or that his headlights are useless at night?

this has been a long time coming, I get that the original expectation was a level 4 system a year or two after they started selling the FSD package but that didn’t happen and it’s been pushed back a lot so having this monitoring was definitely needed.

4th Gear: I’m not the first to say it, but all Rollers should be electric by now. They are, without a doubt, the best candidate to be EV.

From the linked article it appears Tesla never actually responded to the suit resulting in a loss judgement. From the linked article:

  • $174 billion in electric vehicle investments
Laws can fix this without my tax money being involved. Simply force auto makers into making more electrics if that is your directive

Agree. Ford F-150 is a huge seller . They will comfortably find buyers for every one of the EV F-150 they make. Life time owners of multiple Ford F-150s are not going to change brand. What will be the issue to watch out for is being production constrained due to battery supply and the related issues.

oh theyve all sworn off ford vehicles on my feed. so i stirred it up saying he also drove a chevrolet and that harris drove a ram so now every flag waving american had to drive a tundra.

Right? Even if there was a valid criticism (there isn't, really), this is so confrontational it comes across as personal and petty. I've defended some of these hot takes from this author, but this is some of the worst shit I've seen here

Man, Jim has been around these parts longer than you have, and always been a good dude to talk to. Why are you always interested in the hate train?
