You are only focusing in the EV part of the car, which is fully missing the point.

The Prius plug-in hybrid only does 25 miles all electric.  I don’t disagree that more would be better, but it’s competitive.

It makes more torque and makes it from a dead stop. Which is what will matter on your 10 mile commute.

That would be enough for me for my daily commute.
