Thats exactly the point, some deaths might be COVID misdiagnosis, but many are likely deaths caused by normal things that all just became 5% more lethal because COVID is preventing people from getting the normal care they need.

I wish people were talking about the big increase in overall deaths, not just COVID deaths.

A Model S and Model 3 both have nearly identical yearly costs. The Leaf definitely had issues with battery life, and they probably set back EV adoption for a large number of owners. But since then actual battery life is awesome, with most degrading slower than expected and battery replacements being incredibly rare.

People seem to forget that these more expensive EVs also have better maintenance and cheaper fueling. People should expect to save about $5k-$10k in usage costs compared to a gas equivalent across 5 years. The tech and infrastructure isnt there yet, but its working well to replace $30k cars right now, soon it will do…
