Jake Johnson’s last movie was also really bad.

Well, plus a big dose of trust between brothers. The didn’t much second-guess one another.

I loved TBL the first time through. Having read a lot of Chandler when I first saw the movie, I recognized pretty quickly that it was like a Chandler novel with a stoner dude and his angry bowling buddy in place of Philip Marlowe.

With a dash of “Lodge 49", if only because the protagonists are both pool guys.

they even accidentally did it when they went solo with macbeth/drive away dolls.

The Ladykillers was the movie they made right before No Country for Old Men. And I have a personal affection for that one as well (not as good as the original though).

Don’t forget James Franco thrashing around for a while with a bunch of aggressively mediocre projects.

I’d throw some Inherent Vice in there.

It’s a ‘boutique’ service with not a ton of new stuff coming every week.

I am confounded that this is constantly number 1 on Apples streaming service.  With Masters of the Air that made perfect sense.  With Manhunt I understand. This?  Nope.

That means we get more Jared Leto!

Wonder if Tom Cavanagh is playing Pariah, or some other Wells variant. Would assume the latter.

or mostly digital.

If filming has wrapped on Tron: Ares, and Jeff Bridges was on set only about a week ago, I’m guessing his part is fairly small.

There is a similarly themed short story in the absolutely delightful anthology “Live Free or Undead”. Yes, this is a collection of horror stories all set in New Hampshire (and I think all by NH authors) and it’s really fun. Just came here to say that.

The girl actress looks to be having a blast, at least.

Karloff does not deserve to smell my shit!

This sounds close to the R-rated, horror-focused Home Alone remake I’ve been asking for.

I feel like this is just odd enough & a melding of genres that you don’t see that much that it has some interest

Seriously, I saw this last night and it was fine. Dan Simmons was doing a half-baked Steve Buscemi impression, Giancarlo Esposito was in it for about three minutes, everybody else was okay. The second “twist” was not super hard to guess at.
