I actually liked this episode a bit better. I agree it wasn’t a huge payoff, but I did appreciate that there were things that came back up and character moments. It did feel like Chris Chibnall knew where he was going and I think Tim Shaw can potentially recur as a potential baddie. I do want DW to cultivate some

“...have Ray show off his brand new (non-mission-related) moustache that Gideon helped him grow”

Possible future team members? I’d dig that, actually. I’m already looking forward to the Mona Loves Kaupe spin-off series.

Pretty sure those guys work for Nate's dad on his secret shady project.

They have to be working for Nate’s dad, right? They are taking the kaupe away to be turned into a soldier.

Those are Elder Heywood’s guys using the kaupe as a weapon before the more larger high tech holding facility gets built.

I liked Mona when she was bouncing off other regulars, like Ava, Nora, Nate, etc. Not a big fan of giving her separate story lines so soon. Also, the time bureau is a total mess, so how much of that should be on Ava?

Better too much good stuff than too little, at least.

I really enjoyed the Mona scenes, really invested in her blossoming romance storyline, and curious about who those guys are who tried to kidnap her fella.

I think you put the wrong tag on this one, it’s tagged as “What’s on Tonight” and not as a review.

I’m guessing because it’s the kind of time travel shenanigans that the Time Bureau was created to stop. It may seem harmless, but creating millions of dollars to fund your top secret organisation is probably going to impact the economy in the same way that a government recklessly printing more money to cover its debts

Soooooo ... next week appears to be Smile Time for Time Travellers? Because I am there for it. Very, very there for it.

Love the show but given how meta they get, you’d think there’d at least be an in universe explanation why they just don’t use time travel banking to fund the department.

Like with the show Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I can’t honestly say that Buffy isn’t my favorite character, so she is tied with Anya.

Similarly, Sara is my favorite character on Legends, but so is Zari. They just have to share the title.

- Well, that doesn’t seem to be Manny.
- A “Mindhunter” reference? That’s a bit out there.
- Look at Avalance, being all domestic.
- You see, Jessica Queller. That’s how you have conflict in a relationship without making it toxic.
- Please...PLEASE...tell me that he’s going to be a Beebo. “I love, love, love you...TO

For the third week in a row, I think the episode is too jam-packed. I’m a *little* annoyed that we spent so much time with Mona instead of on a hilarious murder puppet.

Nice, obscure Robert Bloch reference.

Eheheh. I see what you did there, Dr. Carmody. ;)

I’m pretty sure the Ripper was an energy being who left Earth after these murders to noodle around committing murder sprees on other planets before ending up in a body with Piglet’s voice and being extrajudicially executed by disintegration on USS Enterprise.

I’m pretty sure the Michael Caine TV Miniseries had them as actual characters. It also had William Gull as the killer a full year before From Hell was published AND it’s WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than From Hell because it’s got Michael Caine as Inspector Abberline.
