My jaw literally dropped when the camera cut back and showed Ganon impaled with a damn sword in his skull. And then I was just in awe of how beautifully somber it was. Man this just reminds me that I really want a game focusing on a reincarnation of Ganon who breaks the eternal cycle he’s been cursed to be a part of.

Possibly worse than Kojima’s level of auteur-ness?

Wow, Luke, I can’t believe that you and you alone (and not any other site who wrote about this before your shift) are responsible for Nintendo tossing the port maker into Emulation Jail.

They took him off the DLC - so chances are incredibly high they will never work with him again.

Doubt that given he chose to go on youtube and criticise the staff at id having to likely work harder to make up for his failure to deliver on time. In all likelihood unless he shows some contrition I doubt id will want to deal with him again and it’ll be his fault.

Agreed. It’d be really interesting if companies made some of their old consoles and games open source. They could still legally limit using it for profit but I’m sure there’d be a ton to learn.

The funny thing is, there are people who do successfully “play the part”, who don’t get accused of being jackasses in real life.

I apologize for ruining your name

How long before he starts pitching Alex Jones brand male virility supplements?

No, I’d bitch if Thor rolls up in a story about the Dawn of Egyptian civilization.

The problem with compression of textures and sound is you have to waste cpu time to decompress in real-time. I’ve worked with this type of stuff, and the execution time is not trivial. Now that we are free of DVDROM, we don’t want to bother dealing with compression beyond keeping the initial download size down.

Would be great to also be able to choose the quality of some things too like textures and sound files. Like if I don’t care about having 4k textures I can choose to bump those down along with some other settings that take up a ton of space.

Which is funny, as that was how PC games used to install back in the CD ROM early days as game sizes “blew up” to the hundreds of MBs.

Despite the criticisms of the series (I’ve only played 1 and 2, but I’m acutely aware of the series’ highs and lows), I bet they’re saving that for whenever interest in the series seems to significantly drop off, because everyone is waiting for that or is expecting it eventually, and that’s gotta be the *one* game

That is pretty gross, yeah. I’m not opposed to some kind of strike rule for this type of thing.

..maybe you could just stop reading it instead?

Adding America over a year later to a WW2 game was a stupid decision

Guys I think we can all agree Victoria’s opinion is extremely bad, but she is SO passionate about it that I felt it required a blog. Don’t worry, as punishment for her bad opinions I’m making her read Gizmodo’s Twitter mentions.

I support Victoria for speaking her mind, but I cannot support this take.
Dark mode is where it’s at.
