The obligatory dragon sticker after driving Deal’s Gap.
Then you’d be doing it right.
So... in the pictures, these are sweet potatoes, not yams. They are actually different tubers.
Just sayin.
I just saw this one on BaT too!
Great point. 1st gen is plenty weird enough to garner affection.
Mine was a 5th. BOORRRINNGGGG. My mistake was I came from an FJC, so while that vehicle was objectively inferior to the 4R in most ways, it certainly wasn’t boring and therefore ended up being subjectively superior. Ahh well, hindsight is 20/20.
4Runners are great. I had one, and as a vehicle that does whatever you need, anytime, anywhere and without fail; it was great.
I never LOVED it though... it was too... competent? Not weird enough? I dunno. Regardless it didn’t have whatever it is that drives me to love a vehicle.
VW Golf. Any trim, any year. The damn things are ageless.
Well, except for maybe that 5th gen... those are... questionable looking from the front.
These are all over the place in Europe.

Drove through Amarillo 2 years ago, saw the Big texan and thought, “Well, I’m here so I may as well”...
Yeah, it was as awful as you can imagine.
Additionally, no one was attempting the 72oz steak, so I didn’t even get the show. And it is a show on a raised center dais in the middle of the dining room. Shame.
All I want is Vanillaware games.
I have to agree, it’s really surprisingly good.
I picked up the slightly less unicorn SEL TDI Golf SW DSG... which I still paid through the nose for.
The default “Meh” classic.
This take? I... like it.
Haha, Indeed! There are just vast swaths of riders that have no idea what the brakes on their bikes are capable of.
Slipper clutches are actually made to reduce engine braking during decel when not properly rev-matching. They actually don’t have anything to do with launching or acceleration.
It’s amazing how many riders I run into don’t know how to actually use the brakes on their bikes. It’s like there should be some kind of Foundation for Safety on Motorcycles or something that is made to teach riders good habits and skills...
