In my opinion did Halo lost it's edge since the Covenant was disbanded and the forerunners were explained. Nothing wrong what they try to make of the franchise now. I don't think I can do this again. Played HL2 and its addons so many, many times. I even played it through 4 more times with FakeFactory's cinematic mod.
