Man, that song is awful. The jarringness of the crappy stuck-in-its-time song combined with those visuals, as well as the insane pseudonyms of the writers, made me wonder just what the hell I was getting into… which is very appropriate for this show.

Sadly, it seems she's being typecast as women electronic devices randomly don't work for.

I'm not sure that's how lying works.

I knew this episode would end with With Or Without You and I wasn't really looking forward to it because I've heard it so much, but then when we got to that point I enjoyed the hell out of it. It's such a great song.

"Apollonia got blown up by a fucking car bomb."

Oh yeah, I thought the inner film was really good too even though the story itself was nothing much.

I guess it comes down to: It was well made. The book-within-the-movie was ridiculous and clichéd and I found its vigilante politics odious (apparently West Texas is full of murderers who were set free because they knew their rights too well) but as an expression of its oversensitive writer's psyche I thought it worked

I'd assume pretty much everyone in Antarctica is a fan of science.

He was talking about this when he was on Doug Loves Movies. I couldn't tell if he was being serious, but now I know! Yay!

I recently watched the 2-part miniseries Elizabeth I, where Helen Mirren plays Elizabeth. If you want to see a faithful recreation of Mary's beheading, check that out.

She's the queen of a bunch of guys named Scott.

Who are the blonde lady and the black-haired lady? Are they the wives or something?

They should just make Nynaeve's braid CG. I don't think any amount of wigs would be able to withstand all that tugging, and if the actress used her own hair she'd be in a lot of pain.

Book 9 should only last one episode.

I've always wondered how they'd deal with channeling, since most of it involves things only certain people can see. I guess I'll find out!

Emmit, the older brother, looks about 20 years younger than his younger brother. Emmit was talking about dating his wife 25 years prior when he had a job and an apartment and at first I wondered how that could be,.
