I saw that thread! It came across the front page so I clicked on it because of Kendrick Lamar and did not expect the comments to be so dire about anyone trying to be remotely fair about the issue. Normally I just stick to a few different game thread so it was like “ohh this why people say reddit sucks”

... it’s hard to argue with clicking into Wu-Tang right as a geisha stabs a shogun in the neck. If he’d listened to the Clan he’d have known to protect it.

Couple nights ago, went to a bar, and yep, there was a white dude with a guitar doing Superstition and Billie Jean real slow and meaningful. I think all these people went to white Protestant church camps, and realized the way to get WASP panties wet or project thoughfulness is to slow down rockin’ or funky songs so

Konichiwa, bitches.

Which doesn’t change the fact that it’s a shitty, whitewashed version of the song. But whatever I guess.

or they’d just get in the way a lot. THANKS for ruining my fun!

If I’m interpreting the lyrics correctly I think that line is Courtney quoting someone. Like Courtney’s the DD and someone’s telling her “if you smile you’ll feel better.”

“Hey, Debbie Downer, turn that frown upside down and just be happy”

Oh, sorry, does that push the boundaries of belief in a magical space opera where humans from every planet speak the King’s English?

Prediction: ratings for the first couple of episodes will be high because a right-wing Twitter campaign will try and push watching it as some kind of victory, then they’ll get lazy and move on to some other stupid cultural bugaboo and the show will fade into obscurity.

THERE IS A MAN WHO COULD LOOK AT A CHILD AND TELL YOU THE PRICE OF HIS COFFIN.

You haven’t seen my one man show then “I investigated child deaths, and now you are going to die from laughing.”

I loved The Mick a lot. (The drug trip through the high school episode was sublime.) But I was preparing myself to say goodbye to Mickey and the gang.

I’m real fuckin’ upset about Brooklyn Nine-Nine. It doesn’t make a lick of sense to me. Fine, maybe it didn’t get the live ratings it deserved, but it’s the era of

I’m going to give this guy a money clip with $5 in it so he can buy a sense of humor.

This is neither “noice” nor “tight”.  Terry does not love this news.

Brooklyn 99 never got the ratings it deserved but I think, or at least hope, that in a few years from now it will be looked back upon as a truly incredible collection of comedic talent.

He wasn’t running against McConnell (not even the same state), so I’m not sure why the “Cocaine Mitch” thing was even there.

For all the reasons to dismiss a show, dislike for how the episode descriptions are written is by far the most trivial
