This is somewhat a bummer. I like when SNL gets a little weird and subversive. Yes, that sketch was creepy and I was laughing partially in discomfort. Scrubbing it from existence seems excessive though. I prefer my creepy comedy sketches like I prefer my neo-nazis. Out in the open where I can see them.
Now I want to watch this stupid sketch, but I can’t. I can’t find a video of it anywhere. Now, in my imagination, it’s the funniest sketch in the world, but I’ll never get to see it! It’s like...it’s like when you find one of those 30 second porn clips, and you’re like, “This is the hottest shit ever! O-oh my god, if…
Def. Nothing beats a good Mantzoukas episode. (One of my all-time favorites is the “Jeffrey Characterwheaties” reveal. Sublime.) And I know Lauren Lapkus and Jon Gabrus tend to steamroll any other guests whenever they’re on, but it doesn’t bother me. I have so much fun whenever they show up. Gino the Earwolf Intern…
REALLY?
I watch a lot of TBS and am constantly getting bombarded by commercials for the Method Man show Drop the Mic. And the commercial is like the Indian guy from Big Bang Theory dropping some lame line against Blossom and I just can’t wrap my head around who it’s for. Like battle rapping is a subgenre of a genre of music…
I would add anything with Paul F Thompkins or Nick Kroll (especially when he is on as Chupacabra)
On the other hand, white people doing earnest raps is consistent comedy gold.
Only matched by conservatives doing jokes...
I don’t know what there’s really to get about it. It’s the show where they talk to interesting people. It’s right there in the tagline.
Yes, me remember when people were saying that about Toy Story 3. Me really not think it fair to fault writer for taking job making high-profile movie for studio with good track record of worthwhile sequels. In world where Mike White co-wrote Emoji Movie, me not really see how you can attack Rashida Jones out of…
Gee, it’s almost like issues of racism/sexism and whether or not Toy Story needs another sequel are two totally different issues in terms of both scale and importance, and to compare them would make a person look quite stupid.
You don’t event need to read between the lines in this case. The lines themselves are pretty clear.
But it is also a culture where women and people of color do not have an equal creative voice
Maybe she just didn’t want to work somewhere where she would have had to put up with racist bullshit.
She’s been writing here and there for a while. She did the “Nosedive” episode of Black Mirror with Michael Schur, which is pretty excellent.
Also, every case of sexual abuse, from mild groping to rape are also equivalent.
Seriously. This hypocrisy and long-term memory loss here gave me whiplash.
The AV Club: “Yeah, I’ll bet Weinstein and Spacey worm their way back into the public’s good graces in a few years. Smh.”
The detail of him watching “I Love Lucy” is somehow the saddest part of this.
