Jones essentially cleared out a stacked division in a year. LHW used to be the marquee division, with all the best fighters. Then in just over one year he beat Bader, Rua, Rampage, Machida, and Evans. All easily, and nothing but himself has slowed him down since.

Dude holds wins over Shogun, Rashad, Rampage, Machida, Gus, DC, Sonnen, Belfort, Texeira, OSP, Vera, Bader, Matyushenko, and most of them very one-sided wins. Nobody else currently fighting has anywhere near that kind of resume.

I did not see that fight as close as many others did. Gus ran a lot. I mean, really strong effort against a truly great fighter in Jones, and the tactic meant Gus was in the fight for sure, but I didn’t see it as particularly difficult to score for Jones.
