Kinja’d

He’s requiring that pleading standards for fraud be met, as required under FRCP and many states’ civil procedure rules. The pleading standards for fraud are higher than that for general notice pleading. Specific facts about who, what, when, why and where must be plead or the pleading is deficient.

Very nice.

+1 Clean Water Act

Red herring. This involves neither the constitution, nor following order. This involves active undermining of the President’s stated plan of action. The constitution is not involved, and, importantly, when the order does not involve violating the constitution, his oath, through the constitution, is to take his orders

The presidency isn’t a tiny democracy....

You know, Russ has broken all sorts of records and has just had a phenomenal regular season—historic. And Harden is playing transcendent basketball as well. And Kawhi is ...yada yada. You get the point. However, let’s not forget that Lebron is by far the best and most unstoppable basketball player on this planet

You act like the judgments will come out of their pockets or something.

That fruit wasn’t even hanging. It was on the ground.

One is criminal damage, the other is specifically mandated and authorized by statute and aims to prevent damage.

Sigh. Yes, you really don’t know what you’re talking about. First of all, this wasn’t directed to football players alone. It was directed to all of the athletes including all the other sports that lose the University money. Secondly, you’re assuming some rational analysis goes into the day to day decisions where

As to what exactly? Will the request result in some not wearing LSU gear to a protest? Probably. Will many ignore the request and protest with LSU gear on? Absolutely. Will it result in student athletes not protesting when they otherwise would have? I highly doubt it.

They asked the most well known and visible members of the student body because they are the most well known and visible members of the student body—the athletes. The debate team members are not well known and visible and their participation is not likely to attract any attention for them or the University.

Incoming: unfounded assumptions that failure to do what was asked will result in punishment. Might as well give up now. This place is an echo chamber for stuff like this. Bottom line is LSU is a scummy organization for daring to make a request. Anyone who says different is just completely wrong.

That’s not true. I’m sure some don’t but many do in fact talk about not wearing company or organizational-branded clothing at protests and out at bars.

Not a big deal in reality, but LSU was bound to catch a ton of flack for it. Just the optics of today. Asking them not to wear LSU gear while protesting is = demanding they not protest or not supporting their right to protest.

Beef wellington is good.
