Thanks for letting everyone know you have never actually listened to any criticisms of NFTs.

You all realize that so-called real money literally grows on trees, right?

God, this is such a pointless argument. Yes, money is fake, language is made up, blah blah blah. But so is Crypto, and that argument doesn’t add any value to it because it means Crypto currency is just as fake as “real” money, so it’s a self defeating argument. But it also comes with a host of other baggage, and

Well, you see, the difference between a bar of gold and and cryptobros wallet is that one can be combined with a slice of lemon to simulate the effect of a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster while the other can not.

Remember when you said this in an older comment?

Fun fact: They retweeted your story calling it one of the most thorough descriptions they’ve seen of Gripnr 🤣

i don’t think that a three week, considered investigation with 8 expert citations is knee jerk but ymmv

also i interviewed the guy who wrote the wendy’s rpg and he’s super nice! he just wanted to do something fun on the company dime and it turned out really well for him. i think the issue with the wendy’s rpg was that they got CR to play it.

What the fuck is this?

Yeah, that’s the other thing. Who the fuck wants to play some pre-generated character? They put those in the box so you can jump in without needing to (or needing to know how to) roll a character. They’re examples.

So, the best case scenario, as I understand it, is that all these characters get leveled up to 20, complete all the adventures, get all the gear and are, at that point, maxed out in value and unlikely to see any more play in games. (Let’s pretend that people are actually playing any of these characters in any games to

Neat.

Wendy’s never took themselves as seriously as the NFT idiots all do.

I think that Pro-GM are actually offering a service that deserves to be paid for, and the transaction begins and ends at the table. Gripnr is offering a very different product.

They think they are. However Wizard's literally sues mom and pop card shops if they make "judges" shirts that use the magic font, even for magic tournaments. Their lawyers will likely take the least charitable view, whereas this company seems to be stretching the limits of the agreement at best. At least, from my own,

Not quite. The OGL specifically limits the sorts of things one can do. For example, creating a guide is ok. Creating a book, calling it the “monster manual” is not.

legally they are allowed to use D&D property under the Open Game License -- it’s the same OGL that allows people like stream D&D games, to write D&D supplements, etc.

One issue with this article.

Wow, finally someone has come to dethrone the Wendy’s RPG as the Worst Thing in TTRPGs (j/k there are a lot of contenders for that).

The whole burnout u-turn preceding that on a public road without taking the time to make sure there was no one coming makes him a douchebag.
