I wasn’t talking about you setting her up to fail - that was specifically about the original Instagram poster that set everything off, and what they said about it. Or Twitter, I don’t remember. It was a general “you.”

Yeah, it isn’t necessarily career ending, but this is the second time it’s derailed her career - the first time this came up was at her last job. It may be easy to say “this job was too high profile for her mistake, the next one will be fine” but I mean, that’s so subjective - she could take a job 5 steps down from

Yeah. Recently I’ve had very mixed feelings about Alexi McCammond’s firing from Vogue Teen, which this article reminded me of.

I worked in college PR for a hot minute and was in a FB group for people with this same job and it was really depressing how many teens messaged colleges about “you better take a look at THIS teen, they’re not worthy of your school actually!! Get rid of em!”

However, having written that, I’ve also seen events of people paying a, to me, far disproportionate a price for dumb tweets or comments from ages ago because of that current social media backlash.

yeah found that hard to put into words but I def think them coming from a more conservative area/family structure may have contributed to him being the default person in charge. And although he wasn’t really physically present in her teen years, he was funding her travels/everything so I think he was more used to the

it’s hard to tell what day-to-day life was like but I don’t think either parent was around her as much during that phase? Sounds like Lufti was actively preventing them from seeing her at times, which likely heightened the panic vibe

well you’re looking at that with the benefit of hindsight, knowing what Jamie would do. Lynn wrote a book about all this and at the time she agreed with Jamie. They were super concerned with that one guy who appeared in the doc - Sam Lufti - and his hold over her.

Self-serious describes a big problem with the current direction of Jez. It just doesn’t jibe with the click-bait topic choices.

yeah it is weird, and goes beyond just being performative since they genuinely like these guys enough to marry them lol.

“that pushes the trope of the dangerous Black male”

also I feel 99% certain they’re going to pull this back once everyone gets vaccinated. Like wtf? Having a YEAR LONG promotion of free donuts is going to result in some long-ass lines. Also the majority of their business is actually... donuts... even if you’re getting a lot of coffee orders out of it, how is this going

all i’ve learned from here is that there’s a way to get a donut every day if I get the vaccine and i’ve never been more incentivized to get jabbed...

I think it’s likely that they do have plainer options, I’ve bought plain yogurt before, I more meant that the selection of “I’m loaded up with a candy bar’s worth of sugar” options are fairly overwhelming in their magnitude.

yogurt in the US is way too sweet, and that’s the problem. It’s like a quasi-dessert except it doesn’t even taste 1/4 as good as cake or whatever.

you lumped them all in as a clan and asked the clan to do more, hence why I referred to Kim.

FWIW Kim does actually do a fair amount of charity work and selfless things. I mean she really puts in some time to stuff like prison reform. But realistically it’s not “big news” the way their hair is, their breakups are, etc.

sorry if that wasn’t clear, it’s a play on the term “Jurassic Park,” and yes I reserve the right not to use my real name on Jezebel lol.

yeah. You already said that

well those are two different things really.
