The temptation is often there to try and boil complex issues down into simple feelings, especially in online social spaces that invite commentary. Easy answers can’t be trusted.
Some of the self-promotion and "brand building" feels kind of gross, but I also recognize that that's just how a lot of stuff has to operate now with social media. I certainly wouldn't feel comfortable doing it, but I can't really blame them for trying to take advantage of momentum while they've got it.
