Dollar Store George Clooney.
Woodward could be part of the problem but I don’t think it’s this complicated.
It’s hard work to stay in top of evolving social issues. I understand the phenomenon of letting your views crystallize as you get older and stop putting in the effort to be curious and informed. Luckily there is a simple and effective method for not attracting scorn due to outdated views: shut the fuck up.
Why was he chosen to be the moderator in the first place? Brilliant journalist and all, he’s still a dude pushing 80. His entire generation is part of the problem.
I’m a women’s photographer and I get some good influencer clients and mostly bad ones. The good ones contact me, tell me they will want shoots with x images, digitals only with commercial (social media) copyrights every 6-8 weeks in a certain style with x outfit changes, get a quote, sign a contract, and after 2 or 3…
Ugh - yes to everything. Please report back with your thoughts. Also, if you feel the need to discuss the show in depth, Reddit has a subreddit devoted to the series <3 LOTS of analysis going on :)
Ooh, I am so excited for you! Another tip: the first season can take a bit of getting-used-to. She can be abrasive, crude, unlikable, and a very unreliable narrator. Hang in there, though -- SO worth it.
To be fair they hate every woman that marries into that family. Even the lily white ones. Meghan being biracial adds an extra degree to the hate.
I was just going to mention Prince Andrew and the underaged Sex slave, yet the bigots still cannot keep Meghan's name out of their mouths. It has everything to do with her race
Yup. They know what they’re doing, we know what they’re doing, they are counting on people being too polite or too stupid to call them on what they are doing. Forget. That. Noise. They are attacking Meghan everyday for her unforgivable blackness but can’t breathe a word about Andrew’s unforgivable ephebophilia?…
Man, Fleabag bowled me over. I am in love with Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Such a fresh, heart-wrenching show. I wish I could watch it again for the first time.
I finally saw a screening of the original stage performance the other night. The TV show had a lot of moments that made me teary-eyed, but god, I was not expecting how much the original play would make me BAWL. It’s devastating. She’s such a phenomenal writer.
100% this. It is poetic at times, and honestly a relief...seeing MY thoughts and feelings somehow expressed by someone else in such an articulate way...it is both comforting and horrifying. Comforting to know I’m not alone. Horrifying to know I’m not alone.
I wrote this after the Brock Turner trial and then-known-as Emily Doe’s victim impact statement. I’m copying and pasting it here because I’m going to start reading her book soon and I felt like it was appropriate to share.
I am wondering if any of the people who opposed the recall of Judge Persky will apologize for spreading rumors that Chanel Miller didn’t write her victim impact statement. They insisted the victim impact statement was too sophisticated to be written by someone so young, and one jackass said his good friend totally…
I’ve only read a couple chapters of the book so far, but it’s REALLY GOOD. Miller is an excellent writer, though it can sometimes be a painful and immersive experience to read about what she went through. I think it may be too difficult for some survivors of sexual violence, but I think if you’re able, you should…
A thousand times this. Statistically speaking, if you’re a man you more than likely did something at some point to be the center of a woman’s me too story. The fact that that never occurs to most men, and when it’s pointed out to them they find the idea so ludicrous as to be unbelievable... like do they really think…
The accused lives their life and the survivor pick up the pieces every single day.
Well now I’m crying.
