This is so well put. Honestly I have struggled to articulate this, but you hit the nail on the head. I have also found that when women get upset or angry, these same men berate them for being hysterical.

boys will be boys will be boys will be boys...

Just the fact that people are offended by this add shows how important it is that adds like this exist.

It’s just so frustrating that it is assumed that all art is created by men unless there is extensive evidence otherwise. Then the fact that everybody “knows” that all art was created by men is used as a way to explain how men are just more talented than women.

Just make sure to wear SPF. Everything else is for fun in my opinion.

YES! I love make up. My favorite lipstick is this sparkly teal color that is sooo pretty. I don’t give a shit if a dude likes it or not. I love wild color eyeshadows too, like hot pink and reds so pretty! I love changing the way I look. It’s creative and fun. It is so arrogant of men to think I wear make up for them,

I am 40 and literally just had an older man at work ask me “have you been staying out of trouble, young lady?”. Sigh. He is my bosses boss and is old so I have to suck it up when I see him.

I am 40 and still look youngish, and am in a male dominated profession. I wear clothes and make up to work to intentionally look older. I do think it helps somewhat.

Because women are SO SHALLOW and only certain men because they are SHALLOW. But men are so enlightened and just have a preference to date certain types of women. Who just happen to be young and hot. But that somehow doesn’t make them shallow.

Thank you so much for this article. I turned 40 this year, and yeah. Looking back my 25 year old body was objectively hotter by American societies standards. But I was so worried about and frustrated by the attention I got from older creepy men I spent a lot of time covering it up and hiding it and being paranoid

Because nothing natural can hurt you! Ever! Nature is warm and fuzzy and LOVES you!

DEET is awesome stuff.

Plus, how are these even “natural”? They go through significant processing.

DO IT! Please!

I’m so sorry! I went through something similar about 3 years ago--got divorced, moved out. And it was glorious having only my small amount of stuff. But sadly it rapidly began to multiply...I wish you the best of luck.

I had anaphylaxis once and it is so frightening. People who haven’t experienced it/seen it can’t imagine being strangled by your own body. Not funny at all. I’m sorry your friends don’t get it. I do think that there are a lot of misconceptions about allergies and a lot of folks use the term incorrectly/falsely which

I hate clutter too and try to minimize junk coming into my space and edit my stuff on a regular basis. But it is SO HARD with kids. My elementary aged son seems to pick up stuff left and right. Crappy Christmas toys, favors from birthday parties...And my teenagers don’t want to get rid of anything. I am not sure if it

It is so great that she has you to help her strategize. I work in a male dominated field and it is hard to know how to handle things...I tend to freeze or laugh uncomfortably. I think we each have to figure out what works for us, and practicing in advance helps to not freeze.

I find it really validating and healing that other people deal with the same shit. I feel so alone sometimes, like I am the crazy one. I am so sorry that everyone on this thread had to deal with this shit and yet, glad to know I am not alone.

Thanks! I appreciate it! As the holidays approach I always get kind of anxious around gift giving because there was so much baggage around gifts with my mom.
