I briefly considered the last gen model when it looked like I might have a 45-mile commute (each way). If you want a nice interior and real hybrid mileage, it’s kind of the only game in town. Plus used, they’re a better value than a comparable Prius.

Right? It was never unreliable, per se. It’s just that every time it went in for a service, some new part had quietly started to fail and it was either $1000 for the part and installation was $40 or it was $40 for the part, but the entire dashboard had to be removed to install it. Lunacy.
