there is something obviously outdated, obviously doomed about Hertz’s business model

Renault isn’t part of Stellantis. They’re part of Nissan/Renault/Mitsubishi.

I wouldn’t pay this kind of money for this, but I’ve often considered building a Lincoln Continental Cobra on this platform, given that almost all Fox body mustang parts will bolt right on, including the IRS from the Cobra.

Perfect for my next Wagoneer. Screens that project down interfere with the glovebox and ones that project up don’t usually clear the trim and upper dash, both of which project forward. This could just mount to the upper dash pad.

Would not be surprised if placement was for airflow to keep lithium battery cool.

I think it’s hilarious because think of how much cash Ford would have to spend to get half the buzz they’ve gotten because they called it a Mustang.

I grew up in LA traffic, lived in the NYC area for a while, and live in Colorado now, so I’ve seen some sketchy driving conditions over the years.

Two Miata engines bolted together gets you an inline eight. 🤔

I do very much feel like we’d have gotten the Probox as a Scion if we’d bought Scions. Of course, we’d have bought Scions if the bB based xB hadn’t been replaced by the Corolla Rumion based xB.

If you’ve got $100 million, $100k is a 3am drunk Amazon buy.

I get where you’re coming from, but I feel like the whole theme of these “if you’ve done...don’t worry about what’s in the COVID vaccine” comments spreading out across social media is that if you’re not some recluse in a hermetically sealed bubble, you’ve got no standing to talk shit about this incredibly important

OTA updates for infotainment are a very different beast from OTA updates to drivetrain control modules. That’s the big difference between what Ford (and other traditional automakers) have been doing and what they’re pivoting to.

The very first actual race I attended was the 1977 USGP West in Long Beach, where Mario Andretti captured the podium. I was eight.

I’ve always been perplexed by Kia’s decision to name their urban minivan for a city in Arizona while naming their SUV for a city in Italy. The inverse always made more sense.

I had some on my MINI Cooper’s belts. They didn’t adjust (convertible) and rode right where they’d dig into the side of my neck.

I’ll again trot out my nearly 20 year old story about a former colleague who just straight up rented a car instead of owning one. His out of pocket expenses were roughly comparable to what he’d have paid for in a car payment, maintenance and insurance.

I bought a brand new HHR in 2007. It replaced a Silverado 2500, which just didn’t make sense as a daily driver in Connecticut. I bought the HHR with an eye towards gifting it to my daughter when she turned 16 in a couple years.

Came here for this. Leaving happy.

I think Kia’s biggest problem was that they tried to launch a fairly high end body on frame SUV with an available V8 just as the global economy started to implode.
